Course Objectives
1. Explain and integrate the content and process theories of work motivation for individual career counseling. 2. Examine self-assessment tools such as the Keirsey Temperament, Career Anchoring Pattern, Values Inventory, Strong Campbell Interest Inventory. 3. Perform life and career assessment for individual career planning. 4. Be able to create a personal career/life plan. 5. Recognize employee stages of career development and identify individual career anchoring patterns for career planning. 6. Create an individual career development plan. 7. Practice and needs assessment for the development of a career development program. 8. Outline the steps of developing an organizational career development program. 9. Implement a succession planning program. 10. Describe the characteristics and stages of mentor/learner relationships for the development of mentoring programs. 11. Accept the importance and techniques of establishing an organizational retirement program. 12. Diagnose positions for job enrichment as a career development tool. 13. Practice career coaching and counseling techniques. 14. Use Career Path Analysis for employee placement and development.

The course will cover four broad areas: 1. Summary of workforce planning. 2. Career development models and tools. 3. Practical application of topics at individual and organizational levels. 4. Developing and implementing workforce planning and career development programs.
