Course Objectives
1. Generate and defend a definition of elearning evaluation. 2. Compare and contrast formative and summative evaluation. 3. Distinguish between/among the following as they relate to technology-supported learning environments: (a) measurement and evaluation; (b) input, context, process, and product criteria; (c) extrinsic and intrinsic evaluation; (d) norm-reference and criterion-referenced measurement; (e) learner verification. 4. Write effective assessment items and test their validity and reliability. 5. Describe rationale, methods, and instrumentation for four facets of evaluation within the context of learning environments, specifically documentation, formative evaluation, assessment of immediate effectiveness, and impact evaluation.
