Course Description
Hands-on-exercises on the applications of remote sensing techniques in geological and environmental sciences. Students will master image processing and spatial analysis techniques (e.g., radiometric and geometric enhancement, image classifications, and spatial interpolation). The course will cover the fundamentals of remote sensing with an emphasis on hydrologic applications.

Course Objectives
1. Students will learn the fundamentals of remote sensing and numerical/spatial analysis techniques commonly used in the analysis of geological/environmental data sets. They will learn how to apply remote sensing techniques in geological and hydrologic sciences. 2. Students will become proficient at image processing and spatial analysis techniques, including radiometric and geometric enhancement, image classifications, spatial interpolation, and georeferencing. 3. Students will master the applications of these techniques using ENVI image processing software (Environment for Visualizing Images and GIS (geographic information systems) framework to resolve geologic and environmental problems of interest.
