Course Objectives
Students get practical experience in integrated pest management (IPM) by working for an extended period with professionals in either industry or academic research institutions, cooperative extension, IPM consulting, or marketing and development divisions of pesticide companies. Pest management internships are developed by the student and his/her advisory committee in an area of interest for the student. Pest management internships have often extended into employment opportunities or provided the stimulus of interest in students to pursue advanced training for a career in IPM research.
