Child and adolescent development is examined in-depth from an educational perspective. Cognitive, emotional, moral, and social aspects of development are emphasized.

Course Objectives
Students will learn and apply: (1) contemporary theories of research in child and adolescent development (2) and discuss how child and adolescent development theories apply in educational settings (3) and analyze how developmental patterns in individual children and adolescents present themselves in educational settings (4) and discuss implications of child and adolescent developmental research and theories for the design of educational program and settings (5) and, as an honors students, engage in an action research project which examines one or more of the theories present in context in class.
