Course Objectives

Upon successful completion of this course, the student will be able to: 1. Describe the fundamental operation of a digital computer 2. Describe and identify fundamental electronics input and output components 3. Analyze basic DC electrical circuits 4. Design basic DC electrical circuits for data acquisition with microcontrollers 5. Design basic digital control circuits 6. Write software programs that perform digital data acquisition and actuator control 7. Identify errors in software programs using software debugging techniques 8. Use simulators and development environments to assist in computer software and hardware design 9. Research new software and hardware components to understand their principles of operation and integration requirements 10. Describe operation and identify errors in electrical circuits using testing and measurement hardware
