Approaches to perceiving and interpreting the landscape. Topics include tools for reading the landscape such as, visual assessment techniques, use of maps, field work, and/or on-site photography.

  • To become aware of the variety of ways that information about landscapes can be collected and recorded.

  • To develop an ability to critically evaluate the relationships between the built landscape and sustainability values.
  • To develop an active curiosity about landscapes and the many ways that they can be perceived and interpreted.
