Course Objectives
This course serves as an introductory course to the College of Education (COE) and is required for all transfer College of Education students. It introduces students to campus life by surveying University and COE philosophy, policies, and procedures; exploring the range of events and services offered on campus; and serving as a forum in which students can ask questions and share experiences with fellow transfer students, faculty, and mentors in the establishment of a shared experience and sense of community. Through active participation in this course, students are expected to: 1. Identify and explore academic and co-curricular opportunities in the College of Education and at the University of Georgia. 2. Create a portfolio that will serve as a planning document and will aid in the development of applications and other academic/professional documents. 3. Demonstrate familiarity with College of Education and University programs, policies and procedures. 4. Develop skills for academic and professional success, including study habits, time management, personal presentation, etc.
