Course Description
Interns will participate in a supervised work experience in Family and Consumer Sciences (FACS), such as the Georgia General Assembly, state or federal agencies, the FACS Student Success and Advising Center, or other related settings.
Additional Requirements for Graduate Students:
Students will be required to investigate a specific topic related
to their internship experience. This will entail a thorough review
of literature, analysis of major questions to be answered, and
identification of specific research topics. This will be reported
in a written research paper. The results of this work will also be
presented and graded for content, analytical acuity, and
presentation quality.

Course Objectives

During this experience, interns will: a. learn about the organization through the lens of family and consumer sciences b. develop a professional skill set c. complete projects, assignments, and activities designed to prepare and/or enrich the internship experience.
Topical Outline
Specific topics will be determined from consultation between intern, assigned intern supervisor, and supervising faculty member. Interns are expected to: 1. Complete and submit structured weekly logs with reflection 2. Complete and submit mid-point and final self-evaluations 3. Prepare a final paper summarizing their internship experience 4. Conduct a presentation on the internship experience
