Course Objectives

1. Define the principles of neurotransmission 2. Define how modulation of neuronal receptor function affects disease states 3. For each drug class covered, students will achieve the following objectives: a. Identify the indications b. Describe the mechanism of action c. Identify the site of action d. List the side effects associated with the drug and the mechanisms responsible for side effects e. Identify drug interactions and potential toxicities
