Course Description
Practical application of music therapy in an assigned clinic, along with seminars to analyze effectiveness, in-depth interactions, intervention strategies, and accountability measures.
Additional Requirements for Graduate Students:
Graduate students will be required to give an oral report.

Course Objectives
1. Assess client needs. 2. Formulate goals and objectives for clients. 3. Design and lead activities with clients. 4. Conduct music therapy sessions with clients, design and collect data on treatment plan, and present data and specific aspects of treatment to group, usually via video tape. 5. Articulate elements of popular learning theories and/or treatment approaches and apply to sessions with clients.
Topical Outline
1. Experience programming for at least three distinct populations. 2. Experience long-term relationships with clients, taking progressively more responsibility for programming.
