Course Description
Trends in special education, characteristics and needs of those classified as exceptional, curriculum development, and intervention strategies. Mainstreamed and self-contained settings will be discussed.
Additional Requirements for Graduate Students:
Graduate students will be required to write a paper on a topic of wider scope than undergraduates and will give an oral report.

Course Objectives
1. Be able to articulate the characteristics of exceptionalities and disorders in children and how to differentiate them. 2. Present activities and abstract of research to peers. 3. Provide activities to selected group of children with specified disorders.
