Course Objectives
• students will learn about psychoanalytic theory focusing on Freud, Winnicott, and Lacan • students will learn major psychoanalytic terms, including the unconscious, transference, defense mechanisms, and trauma, and apply them to educational contexts • students will learn a range of ways psychoanalytic theory has been taken up and used by educators • students will learn how to apply psychoanalytic theory to their own research projects
