Course Description

Critically examine controversial issues in food, agricultural, and environmental sciences. Issues are presented to find common ground, build trust, address conflict management, and think critically through all sides of an issue. Explore various meanings and practices of advocacy and conflict as it relates to controversial issues.

- Identify multiple viewpoints and sources related to a selected agricultural, food, or environmental science issues. - Engage in and react to controversial issues in a socially responsible manner. - Identify credible sources for information, analyze the information presented, and critically determine how information impacts thoughts and opinions about a given issue.
