Student Learning Outcomes
Students will demonstrate knowledge on a variety of topics in German society, current events, business, international affairs, technology, and culture that are of general interest to the German public today.
Students will show confidence, clarity and fluency in spoken German via active and sustained participation in pair- and group-discussions.
Students will demonstrate an advanced understanding of German grammar, in order to communicate more clearly in speech and in writing.
Students will utilize active and passive vocabulary to include new high-frequency verbs and nouns and technical terms relevant to recent developments in business, international affairs, society, and technology in Germany.
Students will show an awareness of cultural norms and values characteristic of the German workplace and university, in order to better understand and navigate these settings while abroad in the future.
Students will create an application for an internship with a German company or organization as a final project for the class.
