Student Learning Outcomes
- Students will develop language skills in aural, oral, reading and writing French at the ACTFL Intermediate to Intermediate High level.
- Students will acquire essential vocabulary related to the discussion of graphic novels and visual arts.
- Students will understand concepts of visual grammar and visual syntax.

- Students will develop an awareness, knowledge and appreciation of various forms of French and/Francophone visual culture within a communicative framework.
- Students will develop an awareness, knowledge and appreciation of various forms of French and/or Francophone visual culture through the analysis of art, media, and graphic narration.
- Students will describe, analyze and evaluate noteworthy expressions of artistic design as they relate to political, social, cultural and historical contexts.
- Students will contextualize encounters with visual culture through the lens of critical theory, secondary literature and/or documentary videos.
