Course Objectives
To prepare prospective language teaching assistants to teach less commonly taught languages (Asian, African, and Middle Eastern) for credit at the university level. Students will examine theories of language teaching, best language teaching practices, and critical pedagogical methods that are specific to less commonly taught languages, and will work on the development of syllabi, lesson plans, evaluation procedures, and in-class activities for effective student classroom engagement in language learning.
