Course Description

The real estate development process, with particular emphasis on analyzing the feasibility of design, location, and construction.

Additional Requirements for Graduate Students:
Graduate students will be required to submit an additional paper in which they identify a public policy issue affecting the real estate development industry and review the academic literature pertaining to the issue.

  • Students will be able to construct a complete assessment of the quality of a properties site and location.
  • Students will be explain to explain the process through which the typical real estate development process is financed.
  • Students will be able to produce a real estate market study for a proposed real estate development project.
  • Students will be able to assess the financial feasibility of proposed real estate development projects.
  • Students will demonstrate how the analytical techniques that they learn in the class can be used to identify opportunities for real estate developers to address community needs, issues, or problems.
