Course Description

Advanced applications of statistical procedures for demonstrating cause and effect linkages with critical organizational outcomes. Course topics will emphasize effective techniques for disseminating the results of these analyses in ways that are impactful and actionable for improving business practices.

Course Objectives

1. Apply appropriate techniques and tools to analyze big data problems 2. Understand the conceptual foundations of relevant predictive analytics methodologies 3. Demonstrate the benefits of advanced analytics for improving organizational decision making 4. Utilize relevant software appropriately in order to generate results that provide insights that are useful for addressing critical business needs 5. Recognize and effectively communicate insights in ways that are actionable for key organizational stakeholders

The course will cover four broad areas: 1. Data forecasting methods, particularly multivariate and modeling methods 2. Data mapping, construction, and integration 3. Data analysis interpretation using multivariate and modeling methods 4. Data visualization techniques
