Productivity Management


Course Description

Personal, process, white collar, and organizational productivity concepts, issues, and measurements. Emphasizes combining these new management philosophies in achieving a competitive advantage of time, quality, and price and their impact on organizational profit. Constraint management and process management concepts are applied to support cross-functional problem identification, analysis, solution, and implementation.

Course Objectives

The objectives of this course are to provide: An overview of performance measurement issues and new measurement systems for service and manufacturing organizations. A business systems model for viewing the relationships across functions. A problem identification, solution and implementation methodology for personal, support function, and organizational problems. Methods for improving service productivity. A process management model for improving performance in white collar support functions. A systems improvement approach to designing and managing transformation processes. An analysis of the Traditional, Process Management, Just-In-Time and Theory of Constraints approaches to productivity improvement.
