Course Description
Advanced topics in virtual reality and augmented reality, such as calibration and sensor fusion in motion-tracking system design, locomotion techniques for fixed physical spaces, haptics, robotic teleoperation, and collaborative experiences. Students will also study research methods to evaluate virtual and augmented reality systems and experiences.

Course Objectives
Following this course, students will be able to • Calibrate and integrate off-the-shelf real-time 3D motion tracking systems and immersive audio/visual/haptic displays • Design and construct novel 3D input and output systems • Optimize a virtual or augmented 3D user interface and physical space for a given application • Design and perform usability evaluations of virtual reality systems
