Course Objectives
The overall goal is for students to deepen their knowledge of technology integration and planning and become able to analyze, plan, and implement a district-wide technology plan. To this end, students will: 1. Reinforce their understanding of foundational concepts in and history of the Instructional Technology field 2. Critically read, reflect and analyze literature related to technology planning for instruction 3. Enhance their level of the information literacy and technology skills necessary for planning for technology use in instruction 4. Create essential elements of a comprehensive technology plan for a specific educational setting 5. Demonstrate the skills and disposition to meet in their professional practice the following objectives (from the ISTE standards): -Contribute to the development, communication, and implementation of a shared vision for the comprehensive use of technology to support a digital-age education for all students -Contribute to the planning, development, communication, implementation, and evaluation of technology-infused strategic plans at the district and school levels -Advocate for policies, procedures, programs, and funding strategies to support implementation of the shared vision represented in the school and district technology plans and guidelines -Implement strategies for initiating and sustaining technology innovations and manage the change process in schools and classrooms
