Course Description
Audio techniques, technologies, and critical listening will be applied towards recording, mixing, editing, and mastering live and archived recordings for the UGA HHSOM. Working in a professional studio environment equips students with skills needed to succeed in audio recording, while also empowering them in their performance, teaching, and research endeavors.
Additional Requirements for Graduate Students:
Graduate students will be asked to select two respected
recordings, similar in genre and scope, and write a research
paper. Students will assess each recording, researching
techniques and equipment used, and compare and contrast the
differing approach. Additionally, graduate students will be asked
to complete an additional archival transfer and audio restoration
project, further advancing their knowledge of legacy formats.
