Course Objectives

This course provides a strategic approach to nonprofit leadership by looking at leadership as an inside-out, relational phenomenon – from individual development to group dynamics and eventually to complex organizations. Concepts of leadership are introduced, as well as strategies for managing effectively. Through the use of case studies, important articles, exercises, and class discussions, we will examine a number of leadership issues, including power, authority and influence, team building and coalitions, diversity and multiculturalism, and ethics and values.
