Course Description
This capstone design course is the first in a two-semester sequence that is project-based and focused on problem framing, stakeholder analysis, concept generation, and project management skills. The projects are designed to provide students with a significant design experience in engineering prior to graduation.

Students will meet with assigned faculty to discuss their individual project execution and progress and attend a common lecture hour each week.

Course Objectives
Upon successful completion of the course, students will be able to: • Perform professionally exhibiting integrity, accepting responsibility, taking initiative, and providing leadership necessary to ensure project success. • Establish relationships and implement practices with team members, academic advisors, industrial advisors, and clients that support high performance and continuous improvement. • Plan, monitor, and manage project schedule, resources, and work assignments to ensure timely and within budget completion. • Utilize prior knowledge, independent research, published information, patents, and original ideas in framing problems and generating solutions.
