Using teacher action research in secondary English Education classrooms as a foundational component of responsive teaching which responds to the specific needs of each learner. Pedagogies of differentiation and authentic assessment, requiring participants to position themselves as both teachers and learners.

Course Objectives
Students will: 1.Develop and implement differentiated English Education or Language Arts curriculum. 2.Develop, implement, and evaluate multiple authentic assessments of student reading/writing. 3.Participate in a virtual professional learning community to analyze instructional practice in a variety of instructional contexts. 4.Design, implement, and present findings related to an individual instructional inquiry project.
