Course Objectives
Students in this course are expected to be able assimilate information from various animal science disciplines (reproduction, nutrition, genetics, products) and critically evaluate management plans for beef cattle production operations. Production philosophies for the various segments of the beef industry will be presented, analyzed, and discussed. In addition, students will participate in experiential learning activities related to beef production and management practices. Ultimately, students will be expected to apply their knowledge and critical thinking and problem solving skills as they develop and refine a management plan for a beef cattle operation.
