Students will be able to provide an overview of major historical and contemporary counseling and psychotherapy theories that underlie human behavior and change.
Students will be able to provide methods for critical analysis and comparison of major historical and contemporary counseling and psychotherapy theories.
Students will be able to examine racial/ethnic, cultural, gender, and sexual orientation issues in relation to major historical and contemporary counseling and psychotherapy theories.
Students will be able to understand the development of major historical and contemporary counseling and psychotherapy theories within a historical, social, economic, and political context.
Students will be able to increase one's understanding of and skill in making connections between various systems of counseling and psychotherapy theories.
