Course Objectives
• Apply concepts, principles, and approaches in global health to improve health of individuals, communities, and populations around the world • Demonstrate the core competencies (knowledge, skills, and attitudes) in the field of global health, placing a special emphasis on measuring the burden of disease, interdisciplinary collaborations, socio-cultural, political awareness, health equity, and ethics, as well as impacts of globalization • Apply social justice and human rights principles in addressing global health problems • Describe the roles and relationships of the major entities influencing global health and development • Identify how demographic and other major factors can influence patterns of morbidity, mortality, and disability in a defined population
