Students will be required to complete a research project and present the results of the project to a small group of faculty (minimum of 3, preferably the student’s faculty advisory committee) at the completion of the work.

Semester Course Offered

Offered fall, spring and summer

Grading System

Course Objectives

Students in this course will learn how to design an experiment, perform laboratory and/or field procedures related to the experiment they design, analyze data collected during the experiment, and present the result of that work effectively to an audience. There is no topical outline for this course because the content will vary with each individual research project. The course is designed to provide a research experience for non- thesis M.S. students in the Department of Poultry Science. Completion of an independent research project is required as part of the non-thesis M.S. degree, and expected outcomes of this course would be the successful completion of research to meet this requirement.

Topical Outline

Variable based on the nature of the research project.
