Course Description
The application of engineering principles to solid mechanics and to body dynamics is discussed. The student should understand the mechanics of the musculoskeletal system.
Additional Requirements for Graduate Students:
Graduate students will research topics related to biomechanics,
such as the effects of exercise on the physiology of an
organism. This research will be presented in the form of a
manuscript and presentation to the class. They will also
prepare and present laboratory exercises related to the
application of biomechanics in gait analysis. Examinations for
graduate students will be significantly more rigorous and will
include an oral examination component as related to the
development of the laboratory exercises.
