Course Objectives

Provide preservice teachers with tools to enhance their professional development, to recognize and explore the issues of elementary classrooms, and to expand upon their development as a teacher-scholar. Work together as a community of learners sharing responsibility for the success and learning of the class. Focus on teaching, which includes meeting individual needs, motivating students to learn, determining what students should learn, instructing and assessing learning, organizing and managing time, resources, and students' behavior, and understanding the social culture in which we teach and learn.
