Course Objectives

1. Develop an in-depth understanding of relevant research and investigatory approaches to a specific area of research interest in counseling and human development services 2. Critique the basic research literature in counseling and human development services 3. Demonstrate an ability to conduct a comprehensive literature review 4. Demonstrate an ability to evaluate research designs, methodology, and conclusions presented in journal articles published in the professional literature 5. Understand the importance of research to a profession 6. Build a commitment to conducting and using professional research documents
