Issues coming before the United Nations organization in the upcoming session from the standpoint of assigned countries, culminating in participation in the national Model United Nations in New York in early spring. Research papers and practicum at United Nations headquarters in New York.

Course Objectives
This course will prepare students for participation in a Model United Nations conference. Model United Nations is a simulation in which students function as diplomatic representatives to the UN from one or more countries. To prepare students for this activity, this course will develop the students' research, writing, and public speaking skills. The substance of the course will be divided between the history and functions of the United Nations, and policy issues relevant to the particular states the students will be representing.
