Course Objectives

This course will offer a greater diversity of topics, more time to study them, and an opportunity for all our graduate students to take the course as part of their degree requirement. Since all the other graduate courses in our department are taught in the target language, many graduate students are unable to take courses of interest which are taught in a language they do not know. This course will also enable faculty members in our department to offer specific seminars on short notice without having to wait over a year for a new course proposal to be approved by the University.

Topical Outline

The topical outline will vary from topic to topic. In keeping with University policies, however, all students will be required to take a final examination. Students will also be expected to write a term paper and/or several shorter papers.
