Course Objectives
Students learn the foundations of sound and picture editing. Students learn professional techniques of location recording, collecting wild and library sounds, combining sound with picture, organizing and designing the sound space, and constructing the rhythm for visual storytelling in entertainment media.

1. The audio visual experience 2. Recording sound in the field 3. Combining sound with picture (sync’ing) 4. Editing sound and picture (dialogue cutting and creating consistency) 5. Designing sound for picture (psychoacoustics) 6. Visual rhythm vs. audio rhythm and design 7. Mixing audio and adjusting video for broadcast requirements
