Course Description

Analysis and practice of directing the actor, shot execution, and camera placement as used in film, television, and digital-media entertainment. Students develop their voice and unique visual style.

Student learning Outcomes

  • Students will identify the power and importance of actors, their craft and contribution to the creative process.
  • Students will analyze the language of actors and acting for the purpose of getting stellar performances and capturing them on camera.
  • Students will exploit image, story, performance and sound to maximum effect in service of your vision.
  • Students will execute competencies in framing, composition, shot development and mise-en-scène.
  • Students will demonstrate competencies as a director working to discover and refine your cinematic voice.
