Course Objectives

This course analyzes constructs of the audience in the context of industry, commerce, and academic theory. Primary interest is in industry approaches to defining and measuring an audience market and to fan agency, organization, identity, and hierarchies. This class addresses issues of valuation and marginalization practices in audience construction.
