Course Description

Provides graduate students with an opportunity to attend scientific seminars from a range of research topics. The goal is for students to be exposed to a wide variety of research topics to broaden their scientific scope. Additionally, students will further gain seminar presentation skills through critique and practice.

Course Objectives

1. Understand what components of a seminar constitute an effective presentation 2. Describe the differences between a "good" versus "great" seminar 3. Give an effective seminar to your peers 4. Improve your own seminar skills over the course of the semester 5. Be exposed to a wide range of scientific topics


Topical Outline

Students will attend the scheduled departmental seminar series. Students will also be given an assignment for the seminar (ELC) and must upload by the due date.
