Course Objectives
Course Goals: To understand and appreciate the complexity of issues within the context and triad of science, technology, and society (STS) with an emphasis on the state of Georgia. To participate and develop units and lessons and assessments in activities that focus on STS (including on site visits and fieldtrips). To develop budget proposals for funding school projects with a focus on STS. Course Outcomes: Contextual learning technology field experience in a local business and investigat the relaionship of STS in that area. Unit Plan and Assessment. Develop a unit of lessons that can be integrated into classroom use. Presentation of project and experiences to peers.

Renewable and non-renewable resources. Science, Systems, Matter, and Energy Contextual Learning Technology Field Experience Natural Resources and their uses. Science research using technology. Population growth and distribution. Genetic Engineering and cloning. Global warming and environmental pollution. Technologies in "3rd world" countries
