Students will review the work of classic sociological theorists (e.g., Marx, Weber, and Durkheim) and contemporary theorists through the use of original texts.
Students will review the derivation and history of many concepts, discourses, and dilemmas that are still current in social scientific debate.
Students will analyze social problems and assimilate sociological research.
Students will be asked to demonstrate their mastery of the course content in written work that is appropriate for an academic context.
