Course Objectives
Upon successful completion of this course, the student will be able to: 1. Know the graphical symbols for hydraulic components 2. Identify appropriate fluids and describe their temperature-flow characteristics 3. Select appropriate size and quality of pipes, hoses and tubing 4. Design and/or select the proper type and size of reservoir 5. Select an appropriate fluid container 6. Select cylinders for specific situations 7. Select motors for specific situations 8. Select appropriate directional control valves 9. Select appropriate pressure control valves 10. Select appropriate volume control valves. 11. Learn the advantages and applications of open and closed center hydraulic circuits 12. Design the hydraulic circuits series, parallel, pump unloading, synchronizing, directional control, pressure control, volume control, sequencing, safety and electrical control.
