Course Description
Designed to reinforce and strengthen the students’ knowledge of management and financial concepts as applied in an agribusiness setting. This course will expand previously acquired analytical skills and tools in agribusiness decision-making. These skills and knowledge will be applied in real business situations through class projects.

Course Objectives
The classes will provide interactive learning opportunities. The lectures will feature both theoretical concepts and practical agribusiness applications through business case analyses. As an important gauge of the students’ grasp of the entire course (in addition to exams), group case study projects and presentations will be required.
Topical Outline
Major topics include: (a) farm financial and investment analyses (b) separate units on major non-financial inputs (farmland, labor, machinery) (c) capital/financial input (capital structure and credit risk models) (d) enterprise/partial budgeting (e) project forecasting/sensitivity analyses -- financial feasibility (f) marketing feasibility (g) special topics on marketing/production structures (coordination/integration), cooperatives, and risk management strategies
