Course Objectives

To provide the third year of specialty training to clinical microbiology residents as part of their three-year training program.


Topical Outline

This is the third year of a three-year clinical microbiology resident training program that involves direction of students by faculty members of the clinical microbiology training program as they receive clinical cases, work with researchers to develop research methodology, manage aspects of the laboratory facilities, and ensure compliance with regulations. As part of this three-year program, the faculty members supervise the residents in applied research that culminates in a meeting presentation or published paper.
