Student Learning Outcomes
The objective of this course is to improve students’ abilities to create and defend an argument in writing through a series of interactive activities between the instructor and students and between the students and their peers.
Students will learn not only to produce paragraph-length discourse, but also to enhance the logical organization of ideas by formulating a thesis statement with the support of textual evidence.
Students will be familiarized with a variety of topics related to cultural, social, and political issues of the Spanish-speaking world through the use of narrative journalism, short novels, films, documentaries, and social media.
