Course Description
A continuation of Suzuki Pedagogy I and II. Will provide students with further skills and resources needed to teach violin students using the Suzuki Association of the Americas Violin Books 4 and 5 levels.
Additional Requirements for Graduate Students:
Graduate students will be required to submit an additional research paper on a relevant pedagogical topic and will also be required to do a minimum of one live segment of group class teaching with Community Music School student group classes.

Course Objectives
Students taking the course will: • be conversant with the philosophical ideas presented in Dr. Suzuki's Nurtured by Love • have a demonstrable knowledge of the repertoire and teaching points in the Suzuki Violin Units 4-5 repertoire books • develop strategies for working with students at the book 4-5 levels in group classes

* Developing a vision of an accomplished learner * Building and layering concepts and techniques from Suzuki Pedagogy I and II * Further development of bowing techniques, violin hand/arm skills * Musicianship, music reading, and theory skills expansion * Tone development in 1st through 4th positions, G major, G minor, C major, and C minor, D major and melodic minor, E major * Development of vibrato, harmonics, chords, and double-stops * Teaching points in the core Suzuki repertoire Books 4 and 5 * Group class strategies
