Recording Project


Course Description

Taking all of the previously learned skills from the Classical Recording curriculum, students in this course will create a recording project for an HHSOM student or ensemble.

Additional Requirements for Graduate Students:
Graduate students will be required to submit a final paper in which they describe each step in the process of creating the capstone recording project for the project client, noting any special difficulties and their resolution.

Student learning Outcomes

  • Upon completion of the course, students will be able to organize all aspects of creating a commercial recording, working in tandem with a producer and performer(s).
  • Upon completion of the course, students will be able to present a completed commercial recording.

  • Present/prepare overall plan
  • Prepare/present timeline for each aspect of the project
  • Make room/hall reservations, carry out recording sessions
  • Using EDL prepared by producer and performer(s), carry out editing sessions
  • Generate final master audio files
