Course Objectives
By the end of this course, students will have increased their abilities to: - critically read primary literature; - collect and analyze data; - pose, test, and evaluate scientific hypotheses and models; - communicate orally and in writing; - conduct research ethically and responsibly; and - work as a team.
Topical Outline
The course is based on an individualized program of research instruction (empirical, theoretical, and/or informatics research) directed by faculty of the Biochemistry and Molecular Biology department. Faculty and students will meet on a weekly basis at an arranged time and during other ad hoc meetings. Non-traditional format: Independent reading/research under the direction of a faculty member.
