Aerial Yoga Trapeze II


Course Description

This movement class will further develop fundamental exercises and skills utilizing the Yoga Trapeze and prepare or supplement aerial dance training. Through continued practice and improved spinal and joint strength, flexibility and balance, more advanced exercises and skills are obtained.

Course Objectives

- To gain a deeper understanding of the concepts, principles, and processes specific to the aerial Yoga Trapeze. - To develop flexibility, strength, and coordination in the body. - To learn proper execution of intermediate level Yoga Trapeze exercises. - To further increase postural awareness and gain overall strength, flexibility, and balance. - To gain knowledge and technique necessary for aerial dance technique.


Topical Outline

The course will further explore specific yoga trapeze exercises and positions, yoga postures, conditioning exercises on the Yoga Trapeze. Through the introduction of fundamental movement notions based on fundamental movement theories, we will explore movement concepts such as: anatomical and motor organization; efficient postural attitudes and patterns; dynamic alignment; and spatial orientation. Modifications and safety precautions for each exercise will be provided.
