Advanced Research Methods for Publication

Course Description

Provides students with experience analyzing data, interpreting results, and writing methods/results for several of the most popular methodologies published in top-tier journals. Although a semester-long course could be devoted to any single method, this course provides students a “toolkit” to publish with a broad variety of research methodologies.

Athena Title

Advanced Research Methods

Semester Course Offered

Offered fall and spring

Grading System

A - F (Traditional)

Course Objectives

This course seeks to accomplish several primary objectives. After this course, you should be able to: (1) Run analyses for a variety of popular research methodologies (e.g., multiple regression, polynomial regression and response surface methodology, factor analysis, structural equation modeling, multilevel modeling, social network analysis, meta-analysis, among others). (2) Interpret the output and results of those analyses. (3) Write up Method and Results sections for publication based on those results.
